TOO QUIET! September 6, 2010 Ann Hatfield This monitor is terrible--way too quiet; you can't hear ANYTHING! Try the full-sized version (Graco imonitor vibe (2M16VIB)) which is only slightly larger, and works better.
Great baby monitor August 22, 2010 Carrie This is a great baby monitor!! We were unsure about what monitor to choose but after reading the reviews we decided on this one. We are so happy with our purchase. We found that the range is wonderful and have had no problems with it. We live in a very long house so we were slightly worried about the range. The sound is very clear and we love the little receiver- so handy. The battery on the receiver has a slightly shorter than expected life span before it needs to be recharged but that may be normal for other monitors as well, maybe we just don't know. :) Overall, I would definately recommend this monitor.
Good, but power outages a problem. August 11, 2010 J. Marin (Boston area) This is a pretty good unit with good distance. I think the 2000' claim is bogus unless, perhaps, you're in a 2000' long concrete tunnel but regardless, it is pretty good for some distance.
The vibrate feature is pretty handy if you're doing something where you're making noise, or even just outside on a summer day with outdoor noises (birds, cars, trucks, etc.)
Cons:
1. It's got a handy clip to put on your pocket (too small to clip on belt.) That clip flies off all the time and if you are outside, it can become difficult to find it. Put it in your pocket (the unit is very small) and set it to vibrate.
2. If the power ever goes out the unit will NOT turn back on automatically. It does not have an on/off toggle switch. Instead it has a push button, so if you do lose power, even briefly, the unit shuts off. That's really annoying and seems a silly design element.
Ok for the price.. but forget roaming cordless!!! July 20, 2010 S. Weissman The range on this isn't near what it claims! I can't roam around my very small 2 story home without the handset being plugged in, which defeats the purpose of a cordless set! I'm trading up to the Avent Digital, supposed to be #1 monitor for 2010.Wish I would have done more research before I bought this monitor! I don't recommend this for anyone who lives in something larger than a 2 BR apartment. Also the volume is very low, can't hear it over the tv or music, and those are never very loud.
great monitor, better than sony baby call July 19, 2010 meir At first we purchased the sony baby call after reading favorable reviews. The monitor made terrible squeaking and squealing noises that were very disturbing. A friend of mine recommended the graco and we are thrilled with it. No annoying noises, very small and portable. I can wear it around my neck as I walk around. All around great monitor. Definitely worth the money.
