Product Description
Snuza mobile baby movement/breathing monitors detect your baby's movements and alerts you if all movement stops. It is a small (1oz) device that clips directly onto the baby's diaper. The flexible hypoallergenic tip, which must be in contact with the baby's skin at all times (for unsurpassed accuracy), detects the slightest movement. As long as it is detecting any movement, Snuza will remain inactive. If Snuza doesn't detect any movement for a period of 20 seconds, it emits an audible alarm, alerting the parent or caregiver to act. This unique product was developed in direct response to parental concern and anxiety over a newborn's propensity towards sleep apnea in SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome). Conditions in which babies are more pre-disposed to sleep apnea or SIDS are as follows: Mothers who smoke during pregnancy, Exposure to smoking during pregnancy or after birth, Siblings of infants who have died in a SIDS incident, Teenage or drug-addicted mothers, Babies with mild upper respiratory tract infections, Babies who have previously experienced an event where resuscitation was required, Premature or low birthweight babies, Twins, triplets ,or multiples. SIDS can occur any time between the ages of 2 weeks and twelve months, and occurs most frequently between the ages of 2 and 4 months. Male babies are 1.5 times more likely to be SIDS victims than females. Traditional movement monitors that utilize pads are limited to one child (because if you put multiples together, movement from EITHER baby will be detected and prevent an alarm) and can only be used when they are asleep in their crib. Because Snuza is portable, it can be used anywhere your baby sleeps. Perfect at home, for traveling, or for visiting friends and family.

5 out of 5 stars I love that its portable!   September 8, 2010

We are the owners of the angelcare delux plus and I love it, but I hated that I had to move it from crib to the bassinet because our house is big and I am not comfortable leaving my son alone at such a young age(2 months), so we bought this and I absoluty love it! I have many pregnant friends and a sister in law and I have told them all to get at least this product if they cant afford the angelcare monitor.

5 out of 5 stars A little overpriced, but gives you great peace of mind   August 23, 2010

I was one of those new parents that checked on my baby every 5 minutes during the night. I can actually sleep when she sleeps since buying this. It's a little overpriced, considering what it likely costs to make it. Overall though, a 5-star item.

I bought this product for my infant who has two airway obstructions and central sleep apnea. She had been on a medical apnea monitor but once she started rolling over we had to give it back. Her doctors agreed she still needed to be a on monitor but no medical co we could find makes a wireless apnea monitor...so I started researching and found the Snuza. I too {like other moms in these reviews} chose the Snuza Go over the regular Snuza because of the ability to set the times. I like to keep my daughters at 15 secs. And it was also cheaper than the regular Snuza :)

The only cons I can really say about this product are, it's a little tricky to program in the beginning. You have to listen for the beeps in order to program it and the button is hard to hold down. Also, if your used to a medical apnea monitor- the Snuza does not stop beeping until YOU turn it off... with medical monitors they will stop beeping once the baby recovers-so it's hard to tell when she came out of the apnea.

I would highly recommend this product. We all get a better nights sleep because of it :)

5 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!!!   August 17, 2010

I bought this monitor while I sent my Snuza Halo to be replaced. It works great just like the more expensive Halo one. The only differences are this one doesn't vibrate, but this one is able to be programmed to sound the alarm at different times. I love both the Snuza GO and the HALO. It is worth every penny you spend on it. We are able to sleep at night and have peace of mind. I recommend both of these monitors to anyone who is pregnant, has a new baby, or buying a gift for a baby shower.

5 out of 5 stars Peace of Mind   August 9, 2010

I got this product about 1 month ago. We have used it for my 4 month old ever since. I dress him in a onesie and a loose pair of pants and this easily clips to the pants waistband. I tried attaching it to his diaper but it always fell off-which set off the alarm. With it on his pants waistband I have not had any false alarms. I first bought the angelcare under mattress monitor but I was getting false alarms. Also I had to remember to turn the angelcare off and on everytime I picked him up from the crib. This product is much better in my opinion. He can wiggle all over his crib and it doesn't fall off or give a false alarm. I think this is a great item and I don't understand why every parent doesn't have one. It gives me peace of mind to know that if my baby stops breathing- whether from being in a bad position or something laying on his face or some biological reason- the alarm will sound and I can help immediately. It is still important to check on your baby but this actually let me start getting some sleep at night as a new mother. I will probably use it at least until he is 6 months old.
