Works great August 22, 2010 Michelle Works great. I upgraded to this digital monitor from our other summer model that was not digital. The non-digital had a lot of interference but this one is great. Only giving 4 stars because the picture isn't very good when it gets dark, which I was not expecting.
packaging could have been better August 17, 2010 myview The packaging was done in a way that makes it easy to get the product damaged, it came with some scratches here and there becuase of the packaging. otherwise, the product is good
Could improve, but this product is Good August 14, 2010 Catherine (Noblesville, IN) Could this monitor improve... well sure, but overall this is a good monitor and gets the job done. Some have said that the video quality is poor and the night vision is horrible. They must be comparing it to other video monitors that they have seen/used because I think the quality is just fine (as a first time mom). I mean we aren't looking to capture memories with this monitor, just see the kid - right? The only thing that we think NEEDs improved is the volume control. The microphone is pretty sensitive and there needs to be another notch down on the volume control. This issue is small, though, in our opinions.
We believe that the secure feature of this monitor makes it well worth the money.
Overall: Happy with this purchase! August 11, 2010 TLA Overall, we are really pleased with this monitor. The reception is great. Absolutely no static. Battery life (so far) is good.
I really do not use the monitor with much light, so we primarily are using the video feature with the night vision on. The picture with the night vision is a little grainy; however, I would not expect a crystal clear picture in the dark with any baby monitor. So I was not disappointed. In the light, the picture is extremely clear and in color. Anyone that has come over and looked at the monitor has commented on how great the picture looks.
The volume is easy to access. You can use up to four cameras with this unit. And there is a split screen feature so you can watch all active cameras at once. That was one of the other big selling points for me. Not to mention, I suspect the talk back feature will definitely come in handy when it is time to move our child to a big kid bed ("get back in bed")!
The only issue I have noted with the monitor is that is does interfere with my wireless internet. It just seems to slow it down a bit if I have the monitor right next to me when using my computer. I did notice less interference when I was not using the video feature and just had the audio on. The interference is not horrible and based on all the reviews I have read with other brands of video monitors, it seems to be an issue across the board.
I would definitely recommend this monitor to my friends and family. I did extensive research before purchasing this item. And again, I am happy with the purchase.
Works but not the best video quality August 7, 2010 Jellybean (Wisconsin) I ended up returning this product because after setting it up and using it the video quality was very poor--not something I would expect with the price. The only thing I did like about this monitor was the size because the hand held portion was very slim. I also didn't realize that once you set up the video portion you cannot change the position of it from the hand held so if your baby moves you must come in to adjust it. I ended up spending a few more dollars and getting the "best view" by Summer from Amazon which confirmed how horrible the video quality was on this one because the quality on the other model was 100% better. I would recommend trying a different model if video quality is what you are looking for (and if you are buying a video monitor I'm sure that's important!!!).
